REVIEW
The Beach Boys Band have made an awesome comeback! So much better concert than when I saw them last time. I think losing Bardowell helped quite a bit. Plus, they are doing so many songs they haven't done in a while. The concert sold out right at the last hour before it started. The doors opened at 7:00 and I shot straight to the gift shop where I bought my official 2002 tour t-shirt. After that, I went to find my awesome seat, which was front and center. I mean you couldn't be any closer to the stage than I was! I'll prove that in my great pictures below. Anyways, I sat around saving my seats while I talked to the older couple sitting next to me for a while, also pretty heavy fans of any 60s groups. As I watched the place slowly fill up, I noticed in one of the corners next to the stage who else but Mike Love peeking out to look at the crowd. I snatched up my camera and took it just as he started to leave. Later, Bruce Johnston did the same. Too bad my table was too far from that corner. Scott Totten came out to warm up on his Fender Tele and I snapped some shots of him (he was right directly in front of me). Then, the concert finally started. They started with the surf hits, moved onto the ballads, then the 50s songs, and then into the car songs. Finally, here came the big number ones, all in a row! The crowd was so awesome and Bruce even commented that we were a great crowd. We were all on our feet screaming at the end. Now, of course, Mike had his trademark jokes to say, but there was one really truly funny one. He got on to talking about N'Sync somehow and cracked a joke I'll always laugh at. He said "Tie their ankles together and we can sing like real men". Anyway, when they went in after they finally finished the long, non-stop set, the college guys near me started a chant for more. They came back and had a great finale. Afterwards, I got Scott Totten to autograph my ticket. Then, I got in line to get my shirt autographed by Mike and Bruce, but the security guards called off autographs and said pictures only when I got halfway up. By that time, though, my pictures were already gone! It was so awesome! Also, I noticed some microphones pointed out towards the audience which drew the question in my head, "Are we going to see a future live album?". I guess we'll know soon.
